Hi Everyone,
Here are links to some of the items we discussed in class today.
Here’s a link to the Northwest Trustee Service website and a link to our special guest speaker, Vestus. Thanks again to Sherri Hunsinger and Christopher Hall for going through the homes up for bid! To see how many homes are scheduled for auction on a given date, click on the “Properties for Auction, USA-Foreclosure” link from upper left hand corner of the Northwest Trustee website. After you select your county, click on the drop-down menu that says “Search by auction date.”
Here’s the nice PDF of the foreclosure timeline we reviewed in class.
Here’s a description of the movie The House of Sand and Fog.
Here’s a link to Seattle Bubble where Tim Ellis posts stats each month on the Notice of Trustee Sales and Trustee Deeds.
Here’s a very brief article on the MERS fiasco and the loan servicing enforcement actions that I’m watching unfold. Oooo, here’s another one.
We definitely need to revamp the secondary mortgage market and wean ourselves off of Fannie and Freddie. Here’s a report from the Treasury on that topic.
and there are often questions about how a person’s credit score is effected by foreclosure v. a short sale. Ken Harney wrote a great article on that topic here.
Jess and Julie Lyda created a great blog post explaining the WA State Foreclosure Fairness Act.
Schedule of upcoming classes can be found here.
and here’s a recent blog post I wrote on all the whining going on regarding the new Federal Reserve Board rule on loan originator compensation prohibitions.
