The Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA) provides a legal structure for the creation, management, and termination of condominiums, cooperatives, and planned communities. Effective since July 1, 2018, the Act is codified in Chapter 64.90 RCW and outlines the responsibilities of Home Owner Associations, developers, and owners within common interest communities.

On January 1, 2028 major changes to the Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA) will apply to all homeowner associations and condos, regardless of their date of formation, with some exceptions.
