Loan Originator Pre-licensing and Continuing Education WEBINARS via Zoom
I will send all attendees a direct link to the LO CE webinar.
The link will take you to Zoom and our class.
If you’ve never used Zoom, I recommend planning to log in at 7:45AM
If you’re super anxious about webinars and new technology, I will be logged in at 7:30AM to help first timers.
If everything is all connected, then you can step away until 8AM.
Login no later than 8:00 AM
Posted end time is 5:00 PM
I highly recommend using your own personal computer. Corporate owned computers will sometimes have locked down the users ability to access your webcam. If you are able to attend zoom meetings, and webinars and have had no tech problems with your webcam so far, meaning, you can see the presenter and the presenter can see you, then you should be fine.
It’s like any other webinar platform: You log in, and you will allow the system to access your webcam.
You’re on camera all day. The NMLS requires I verify your attendance that way, similar to a live class.
A live webinar is the closest you can get to a live class.
Just like the live class: We go through the course packet, stopping to talk about what I’ve underlined.
We read and discuss the case studies.
10 minute breaks at the top of every hour
1 full hour for lunch.
The webinar is recorded and if the NMLS ever decides to audit my course, that is what they will use.
I hope this gives you an idea of what to expect with a webinar.
Registration
First pay, and then you’ll need to complete the paperwork the week of class:
The course sign-in sheet, the NMLS Rules of Conduct, and a PDF or pic of your photo ID.
You’ll need to print the these two documents, sign them with your own signature that will match your photo ID.
NMLS does not accept docu-sign, or an electronically signed document.
If you do not have a printer at home, plan in advance to visit a location where you can print documents.
Here are the most common technology issues
Sometimes another piece of software is interfering with the use of your camera such as Skype,
Some company computers lock down any external use of the microphone or camera. If this is you, plan to use your own personal computer.
The NMLS recommends you connect to the internet directly from your internet cable and not WIFI.
If you ONLY have access to WIFI, sit as close to your WIFI modem as possible. The farther away you are away from your WIFI, and the more people in your home using the WIFI during the webinar will interfere with your ability to stay connected to the webinar.
It doesn’t matter what webinar platform I use: All have their own unique idiosyncrasies and tech glitches. I have found the most common way to solve tech glitches is something as simple as logging out and then log back in again.
Plan to log on early, the day of class. I am unable to give personal tech support once class begins.
