This week, I’ve been working on getting an unlicensed predatory loan modification company’s radio ads off of KIRO 97.3FM in Seattle. I’ve been listening to Dave Ross since he took over for Jim French. Dori since he first went on the air, I’m one of the TBTL tens, and I like to hear Don yell at Ron, too.
I heard the ads on Monday during Dave Ross’ show and began researching the company as soon as the ad stopped. Turns out that JBA Financial Group is not licensed to perform loan modification services in Washington state and assumed that a document they received from the California Department of Real Estate gave them approval to modify loans in all 50 states. After getting nowhere talking to four different people from JBA Financial Group, I finally called KIRO. My contact at KIRO and his contact at Bonneville listened carefully, looked at all the evidence I provided, and confronted JBA. JBA decided to pull their ads from Washington State on Wednesday, April 15, at 2PM.
