Short Sales

4 Clock Hours
C-5816

This class often sells out; please pre-register early. Although we would love to accommodate all students, training rooms will not be booked beyond capacity.

Some real estate transactions that may seem the most lucrative may also be the most challenging.  In this four hour course you will learn how to maneuver your way through a short sale transaction from the listing and selling agent perspective.  We’ll learn the four essential questions all Realtors must ask the homeowner when discovering that their home has been over-mortgaged beyond today’s fair market value, we’ll practice the one essential skill that all Realtors have to be good at in order to take on a short sale, we will work on simple to complex short sale case studies, and tackle small-group exercises. By the end of the course, participants will have a solid idea of what is required to become a listing agent of a short sale, and what selling agents can do to make sure the short sale approval process is forthcoming. A short sale math worksheet is also provided. We will also answer the following questions:

Who is the best person to talk to at the bank?
How can you get to the decision maker?
How can a Realtor minimize liability?
What are the ethical duties involved with taking a short sale?
What steps can you take to make sure you receive your full commission?

This class is open to everyone in the real estate industry; real estate agents, Realtors, loan originators, real estate investors, as well as the general public. We do require that you pay the published course price, as we do not allow anyone to “audit” courses. See our school policies and procedures for further clarification.

This class will also include a review of the new Washington State Distressed Property Law, as required by DOL.

This class is also approved for Realtor clock hours in the state of Idaho
Course Number: E0622-0608
