Mortgage Fraud Post Mortem
The real estate bubble is behind us. So that means mortgage fraud is on decline, right? Not so. Mortgage fraud is rampant and escalating. Lenders are incurring unnecessary fraud-related losses in short sale transactions at the rate of 310 million per year and there are currently 8 people on the FBI’s Most Wanted list who are wanted for mortgage fraud. In this course we will review some new local Washington State mortgage fraud cases, revisit some nasty local cases, and dissect today’s mortgage fraud problems post mortem like appraisal fraud, short sale fraud, builder bailouts, and buy & bail.
This class will also include a review of the new Washington State Distressed Property Law, as required by DOL.
