Hands-on Short Sale Workshop;
Bring your case studies!

This is an advanced course in how to work with short sales and homes in pre-foreclosure.

Realtors and real estate agents: Bring your challenging short sale case studies to class and we will help you create a pathway for a successful close.  You do not need to bring any documents to class and can use pseudonyms in order to maintain client confidentiality. Case studies that we’ve solved in class recently include:  non-arm’s length transactions, predatory short sale negotiators, seller filing bankruptcy during the short sale process, home buyer trying to flip the short sale and re-list before closing, listing agent trying to manipulate the BPO, and how to pre-screen buyers who insist on buying a short sale.

In this four-hour course agents will help each other solve their own intermediate to advanced level short sale and pre-foreclosure case studies and present cases to their colleagues.  We will also review the math worksheet loss mitigators use to decide between foreclosure and saying yes to your short sale. This is a hands-on, application-oriented, interactive course faciliated by Jillayne Schlicke.  At the conclusion of this course, agents will become more confident in their ability to represent homeowners who are selling short, as well as gain confidence in their ability to represent buyers who are purchasing these homes.

This class will also include an update of the changes to the Washington State Distressed Property Law, as required by DOL.

This class is open to all students.
You still will need to pay the required fee, whether or not you need real estate clock hour credits. Schedule of upcoming classesEnd of Course Evaluations

“Probably the most informed instructor I have taken a class from. Very interesting subject and will definitely come in handy in this market.”

“Informative…to the extreme.  The group setting to discuss our case studies was very effective. The instructor was knowledgeable and has a sense of humor which makes the depressing topic of foreclosures more fun.  I feel empowered by the info I learned and am less afraid of short sales and all the potential liability.”

“This was a very interactive, informational session on short sales. As a young Realtor with 8 years of experience, I walked away with loads of information from the attorney, fellow agents and financial analyst that sat at our table. The speaker was energetic and will recommend this class and the instructor.”

“Great class! I learned a lot of new things plus clarified things that I was not absolutely positive about.  Teacher is very knowledgeable and very current on recent changes that are happening daily. I will highly recommend this class. Thank you.”

“Jillayne’s classes always provide the most recent market info.  I wish all the clock hour classes were in this workshop-type format. Learning from my colleagues was very helpful.”

“I had a great experience in this class and enjoyed the real life examples.  We were all encouraged to participate which was great.”

“I was able to talk about my recent short sale and get feedback from the class as well as the teacher.”

“Yes! The workshop format works!”

“Depressing subject but presented with energy and humor. Tons of good info.”

“Loved the diagrams of one action leading to another.  Group discussion very helpful, math worksheet also very helpful.  Fear inducing! Lots of good resources. Great learning environment.”

“There is so much to know. I could attend this class several times and pick up new information each time from all the other agent’s experiences. Thank you for helping us go down the road of being a well educated agent in the area of short sales.”

“All agents should be required to be more knowledgeable about short sales and foreclosures in this current environment.”

“Jillayne’s class was informative and entertaining. Her perspective of where we are in this current economic cycle is both insightful and disturbing.  I say it’s better to be knowledgeable than ignorant. I’m glad I came to this class. The case studies helped me put everything together.”

“Jillayne you challenged me and encouraged me in my thought process. I understand so much more now. Thank you. The possibilities for helping homeowners are endless in this current market.”
